10 Pakistani films to Watch in 2017
The Pakistani film industry has improved a lot in recent past as we can see improvement in technical features of filmmaking along with increasing number of productions. Several such films are coming next year that really should not be missed by any film fan.
Few good Pakistani films to be released in 2017 are listed below:
1. Parwaaz Hai Junoon
It is a war drama film that will be released in September 2017. Hamza Ali Abbasi and Osman Khalid Butt are the main actors performing in this movie that is produced by Momina Duraid and directed by Haseeb Hasan. So far, other cast of the film hasn’t been revealed but we are already expecting it to be a blockbuster.
2. Verna
Mahira Khan is the main star of this film that will be released around Eid ul Fitr on 25th June 2017. Shoaib Mansoor is the writer and producer of this upcoming movie.
3. Balu Mahi
10th February 2017 is the releasing date of this romantic comedy film in which main roles will be performed by Sadaf Kanwal, Osman Khalid Butt and Ainy Jaffri. You should watch this film which is produced by Sadia Jabbar and its director is Haissam Hussain.
4. Maula Jatt 2
“Maula Jatt 2” is a sequel of famous classical movie of 1979 “Maula Jatt” and the upcoming movie will be released next year but its releasing date hasn’t been announced yet. Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi will play lead roles in this movie while other main actors in this movie are Shamoon Abbasi, Adan Jaffar and Sanam Jung. Bilal Lashari is the director while Faisal Rafi is the co producer of the movie and it is expected to be highly appreciated by the fans.
5. Rangreza
It is a musical romance movie of next year whose dates haven’t been confirmed so far. Lead roles in this movie are performed by Gohar Rasheed, Urwa Hocane, Akbar Subhani, Bilal Ashraf and Saleem Mairaj. Film “Rangreza” is written by Akhtar Qayyum, produced by Usman Malkani and Yasir Mohiuddin and directed by Amir Mohiuddin.
6. Thora Jee Le
The movie “Thora Jee Le” is for young people which is written and directed by Rafay Rashdi. New and young stars are present in this film including Bilal Abbas, Rizwan Ali Jaffri, Fatima Shah Jillani, Ramsha Khan, Salman Faisal and Kasim Khan.
7. Chalay Thay Saath
The release date of this romantic movie hasn’t been told yet while it is produced by Sheikh Shiraz and Beenish Umar and directed by Umar Adil. Lead roles in this movie are performed by Osama Tahir, Syra Shehroz, Behroze Sabzwari, Zhalay Sarhadi, Faris Khalid and Mansha Pasha.
8. Mehrunisa V Lub You
This movie, directed by Yasir Nawaz, will be released in the start of year 2017. Everyone is excited about this movie as it has the largest set of any Pakistani movie while its songs are written by famous Indian poet Gulzar. In this comedy film, lead roles will be performed by Danish Taimoor and Sana Javed.
9. Chupan Chupai
‘Chupan Chupai’ is an upcoming comedy and thriller movie whose director is Mohsin Ali. Actors Ahsan Khan and Neelum Munir are playing lead roles in the film. January 2017 is the expected month of release of this film.
10. Arth 2
Shaan Shahid is the director of this movie which is the remake of Mahesh Bhatt’s “Arth” of 1982. Leading roles in movie “Arth 2” will be played by Mohib Mirza, Uzma Hassan and Humaima Malik. It is expected to be one of the best movies of the year but its releasing date hasn’t been given so far.
