Pakistan electronic media authority has issued a warning to Urdu 1 to not air banned movie in future, keeping in view the provisions of electronic media codes of conduct 2015.
And if the channel didn’t obeyed the orders of the PEMRA then further actions will be taken against the channel.
In case if the channel didn’t work according to the direction given by PEMRA then the authority will proceed against the channel under section 29 of PEMRA ordinance 2002 as amended by PEMRA act 2007, PEMRA said in the press.
Urdu 1 has not come under scrutiny for the first time from PEMRA. In September, 2017, PEMRA sent a notice to Urdu 1 for airing bollywood movie Dangal after the censor board identified some scenes were improper for the Pakistani audience. This is the issue that Urdu 1 has created again as they are repeatedly violating the regulations of PEMRA, against obscene content.
If the channel still didn’t stopped airing banned material then PEMRA will take action according to the law.
