Servis 4th HUM Awards 2016

Administration of HUM TV tried its best to present the 4th HUM TV Awards as the best of all the awards it presented. It seems their performance will increase with every passing year. This time, both dramas and films were included in these awards while only dramas were presented in the last year’s awards. All the famous personalities of Pakistani drama were present during the awards.
Here below, we will discuss these awards in detail.
The Hosts
Hamza Ali Abbasi and Ayesha Khan stated the show but the starting tone was quite serious instead of entertaining. Just reading the script is not enough for hosting but you also have to create life in the show. Ayesha Khan was not helpful due to lack of spontaneity and her effort to impress others with her American accent.
Bu the entrance of Ahmed Ali Butt and Vasay Chaudhary really changed the whole show. Their wit and spontaneity was superb which produced entertainment in the whole show. Their performance was much appreciated.
Sanam Jung also hosted the show for some time and her performance was comparatively better. She was confident and wasn’t worry about her English accent.
Script and the Stage
The stage manages was perfect. The stage background changes every time with a new performance according to the change of environment which is quite suited as well.
In contrast to last year awards, there was plenty of Urdu in the current show which was better. In the beginning, Vasay Chaudahry and Ahmed Ali Butt stated that they will mainly talk about general things instead of personal comments because it offended several people last time.
But the introductory phase of the show was not good enough as the emphasis was on music instead of giving the details about the show.
Dance
The awards show was much like a dance competition as it was full of several types of dances. The big problem with the dance segment was that most of the dances were with Indian songs and especially at the time when Pakistani film industry is reviving.
Few Suggestions
I would like to give few suggestions after reviewing the whole show.
The first thing is that the awards show should look like different from ‘dance show’ as there should only be limited number of dances in the show. Also, the dance should also be performed on Pakistani songs instead of Indian songs which is an old technique. This will also boost Pakistani music.
Another problem with this show was its time consumption. The show was too long for most of the people to watch it continuously. I think there should be different award shows for dramas and film performances in order to reduce the time of these award shows.
